Trump doesn’t rule out firing Attorney General Will Barr after he affirmed there was no widespread fraud in 2020 elections

Friday, December 04, 2020
US President Donald Trump, has suggested he could sack his Attorney General and loyalist William Barr over his affirmation that there was no widespread fraud in the 2020 election. Barr told  the Associated Press in an interview on Tuesday December 1, that “to date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election" Barr said the complaints of electoral malpractices pertained to isolated incidents and did not suggest any existence of “systemic” fraud. The attorney general’s pronouncement was a rebuke of Trump’s accusations that Biden’s victory was facilitated by a massive Democratic conspiracy to “rig” the election.Trump, who is leaving the White House in January, has now suggested Barr could be packing his bags soon. “They should be looking at all of this fraud,” Trump said during Thursday, December 3,  appearance in the Oval Office. ''This is not civil, this is criminal stuff. This is very bad criminal stuff so I’ll just say this: It was a fixed election. It was a rigged election' When a reporter asked if he still has confidence in the attorney general, Trump said; “Ask me that in a number of weeks from now,” The outgoing president, who’s refusing to admit that he lost the election to Joe Biden, claimed Barr’s Justice Department hasn’t found any evidence of widespread fraud because “he hasn’t looked.”“He hasn’t done anything,” Trump said of Barr. “They haven’t looked very hard, which is a disappointment, to be honest with you.” Despite a lack of evidence, Trump’s campaign has engaged in legal battles to change Biden’s election, claiming millions of votes were cast illegally in battleground states won by the Democrat. Most of the lawsuits have been thrown out, with judges noting that there’s no evidence to justify the campaign’s allegations. “This is probably the most fraudulent election anyone’s ever seen,” Trump added. The post Trump doesnt rule out firing Attorney General Will Barr after he affirmed there was no widespread fraud in 2020 elections appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
