Death toll in attack in Kaduna community rises as troops arrest two more suspects

The death toll in the attack carried out in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State in the early hours of Sunday November 29, has risen as confirmed by the state's Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan. LIB reported earlier that Samuel Aruwan confirmed the death of 7 people in the attack on Sunday morning. However in a statement released on Sunday evening, Aruwan disclosed that another victim identified as Abubakar Alhassan was found in his hut at Kussom village, unconscious and with bruises. He was later confirmed dead by doctors when he was rushed to Kowa Medical Center in Jagindi Town for treatment. Two children identified as Usman Wada and Didi Hudi, who were earlier declared missing have also been rescued from the forest. The statement read; “The military has handed over the corpse to the police for further investigation. “Similarly, the military received a distress call from a community leader in the general area, that some children were seeing wandering in a forest after their parents had fled.“The children have been handed over to the police for immediate reunion with their families.” It was further gathered that Special Forces of the Nigerian Air Force have arrested two more suspects linked to the counter killing at Ungwan Bido village.
